Hsoi Enterprises is happy to announce the release of HsoiContextualServices 3.0.
This is the long-awaited (and possibly irrelevant) update to the old Hsoi’s Shop CMPlugins. As of Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), Apple changed how “contextual menu plugins” work, opting for the Services architecture. It’s a good move on Apple’s part because it’s generally more robust, provides greater functionality, and is much more secure than a public plugin architecture. A few small downsides to the approach, but they aren’t much to speak of.
While technically this is the first release of the actual HsoiContextualServices product and perhaps should be labeled a 1.0, the last version of the CMPlugins was 2.1 and so I opted to name this a 3.0 because it really is just the logical continuation of the product.
I apologize for the lengthy delay in getting it updated. Thank you for your support and patience.
