HsoiContextualServices
HsoiContextualServices are a collection of simple file utilities. Based upon the Services architecture built into Mac OS X, HsoiContextualServices allow you to:
- DeskPicChange — Set your Desktop picture to a selected image file.
- FileHierToClip — Copy a folder hierarchy representation to the Clipboard.
- FilePathToClip — Copy a file path to the Clipboard.
- FileURLToClip — Like FilePathToClip, but using a file:// URL instead of a path.
- ToggleFileLock — Lock an unlocked file, or unlock a locked file.
- WindowsFilePathToClip — Like FilePathToClip, but using the path style common to Microsoft Windows.
HsoiContextualServices are the modern replacement for the “Hsoi’s Shop CMPlugins”. In Mac OS X 10.6 “Snow Leopard”, Apple changed how contextual menus work, disabling the traditional plugin mechanism in favor of their Services architecture. Apple enhanced Services in Snow Leopard to provide a richer, more powerful, and more secure computing experience. HsoiContextualServices builds upon that functionality to facilitate your daily computing tasks.

- New Services!
- WindowsFilePathToClip
- FileURLToClip
- DeskPicChange handles multiple selection, including the contents of a folder. From all images in the selection, one will be selected at random and made the Desktop picture.
- HsoiContextualServices is now a full-featured double-clickable application, complete with online help, pretty icon, and user-configurable settings to customize how various Services work.
- Bug fixes.
HsoiContextualServices requires Mac OS X 10.6 or above.
If you are using less than Mac OS X 10.6, the original plugins are still available, but are no longer supported or developed. Any new features will come as a part of HsoiContextualServices.
